The team will be poorer as a result of losing Mitch. He has been the backbone for years. Guys like him don't come around very often. It seemed there was no job too hard, or to d dirt for him. He just gets stuck in to whatever needs to be done, regardless of the complexity, difficulty or discomfort. The world needs more Mitch Blaschkes. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. DG always has expired items on their shelves. You have to check the expiration dates before you buy anything there. Lots of stores try to sell expired products, so you always have to check expiration dates.

All Dollar Generals are under staffed, which in return makes all employees over worked and under paid! I have been to hundreds of different DG's and have gotten an insanely amount of items from them. However i never buy full price! Its called clearance shopping at 90% off. They have amazing deals and an app which can be loaded on your phone to scan the items price before you buy it to know what the item will actually ring up at register. If in fact it rings up wrong from the shelf pricing they always adjust/override to the lowest price on the shelf. If you dont like their prices then dont purchace the item! It's as simple as that. Alot of their prices are higher than other stores, but its the convenience of not having to drive that extra 20 to 30 minutes to Walmart or even an actual grocery store. And when i say convenience i also mean not dealing with a store who has 20 something check outs with only 2 open and tons of people and a marathon to walk once you arrive. I have seen all stores ring things up at a higher price than the shelf tags say, so its not just DG! I do believe DG needs to higher more people and give better training with higher pay! With as little staffing as they have and just one or 2 employees working a store during the day is absolutely absurd. They can not be expected to unload delivery trucks, check in vendors, check people out, stock the shelves, pull items from the shelves and all price changes done in a day! Its alot of work for just 1 to 2 employees not to mention cleaning up the messes that customers leave for them!!! Some customers ive seen throw things in the floor and just leave it there after going through everything looking for a particular item. Shame on them. I could go on and on but i believe i have spoken my 2 cents enough.🤷‍♀️

as a former DG employee, some of it is not intentional by store level employees. that is because some of it really is the shelf tag has not been chsnged yet because of corprate's "budget" constraints on employees leaves barely a skeleton crew to do too many jobs to get the shelf tags changed. example from the store i worked in, we got the new tags (just for the week's sale paper discounts) and only have saturday and sunday to put them out with only 3 or 4 employees each day (including in store management) while still having to stock the entire store, ring up customers, clean everything, scan out outdated and broken goods, put back goods customers decided not to get or returned, help customers find goods (walking them to each item) , doing paperwork (certifications etc) , answering customer questions and complaints, straigtening goods on the shelf (pulling forward and ensuring in its correct spot) , pricing out and stocking goods about to be discontinued, and having to keep up with the bathroom key, all while still having to try preventing shoplifting, using the bathroom (if needed), getting a break in if possible with usually only 1 or 2 employees being there to do all this.

Yea the one i worked at treated me like shit and i got paid for 4 days when i worked 6 days a week. Not to mention they made me and me only work every truck every week. Got sick of it and quit 3 months ago and found better work

I was severly anused when i asked about the price differañce. It turned out she was the manager. She was alway that way when I came in. She said it was o k because i ask questions about the prices and need help because I'm in a wheelchair. I was shocked. She seemed to be mentally inwell or just evil.😮
